Notes about posting an announcement

REQUIRED READING

In your announcement,
state the city/cities where the filming
or production takes place.

If you do not state a city, there will be a
LONG DELAY
in posting your announcement to the subscribers.

You do not have to be a subscriber to send your casting or crew call to our subscribers.

Both paid and unpaid productions are welcomed, but you should state if there is pay or no pay, or other types of compensation.

State your actor breakdown (not necessary for extras casting or theater generals), crew needs or describe the duties of the theater/film related job.

Describe your SPECIFIC project - give a synopsis or a tagline.

All information regarding the audition must be in the announcement. Do not say, "check the the website for audition location, or check the website for breakdown, etc.

Your post may be edited for clarity or too much .sig or to conform to rules, or rejected for inappropriate content, rudeness or being too flakey.

Be specific about your actor and crew needs; we do not allow "We're making a movie, anyone interested, please contact us" announcements.

If you are sending an update concerning date or time change, include the original posting.

"In search of props, locations or equipment" announcements are OK

REMEMBER - The more information you give in your announcement, the less individual emails you will have to answer.

Check your announcement for clarity, thoroughness and appearance. Your announcement is a reflection of your organizational and communication skills. A well-written announcement will attract a better response than one that looks like it was just "thrown together". It is suggested that you get a colleague or friend to proofread it and check your links and contact information.

Make every attempt to get it right the first time - CORRECTIONS are very low on my list of priorities.

The following announcements are not appropriate for this list:
(exceptions are at my discretion)

actors-pay or tuitioned projects
announcements from talent agencies or talent management companies
talent scout nonsense
advertising (classes/workshops, headshots, affiliate programs, etc)
out of area projects
show openings
film previews
organizational meetings or get-togethers
looking for scripts/screenplays
vague projects
indefinite projects (theater generals and stock photography are OK)
certain types of 3rd party announcements
announcements that state that another announcement is coming
duplicate/triplicate casting notices
personal introductions
long signatures
too, too flakey
