the bird and the bear

white bird woman
whose hand flutters in mine
who has stolen my heart
come back, come back
come back joyously
let me wrap my arms around you
let me press you to my bosom
never leave!
let me inhale your scent
kiss your fingers
caress your hair
let me feel the flutter of your eyelids
the flowering of your sex
as we lie together, wrapped in flannel.
let the heat of your body
be slaked by the breeze
from my window.
let me remind you of who you are
let me remind you why we are here
together in this moment
we shall teach swiftness to the otter
meekness to the lamb
roughness to the ocean
laughter to the wind
with the horse we shall cry
'ha ha!' amidst the trumpets!
come run with me
like diving into cool water
like flying, like falling and being caught
by strong hands.
like wading in the river
glorying that it will never be the same
never the same river twice.
