This message is going out to all Zipcon subscribers. We have been having some odd problems with the phone lines lately. A number of people have reported problems logging in at higher speeds and staying connected. There have also been reports of busy signals when lines are still open and available. I have not been able to identify what is causing the problems, and suspect it is related to something on the telco (telephone company) side. Worldcom, the telco we are using, says that all looks good on their side though. New phone lines from GST, a new telco for Zipcon, should be in very shortly now. They were actually due around the beginning of the year. Today I spoke with the cabling technician that will be bringing the new lines up to Zipcon, so we should be very close. Hopefully the GST lines will be in by month end and will resolve any problems. As soon as the new lines are in, I will send out another message to all Zipcon subscribers with a new telephone number. If you are not having problems, you do not need to change anything. The old telephone numbers will continue to work fine. Sorry for any inconvenience that has been caused by these problems.
