At EHCC we offer several opportunities to stretch the mind and spirit with a smaller group of people.

  • Bible Study: The Bible Study fellowship meets Tuesdays during the school year from 9:30-11am to discuss the texts that have been assigned by the lectionary for the following Sunday. Pastor Dee Eisenhauer or Pastor Emily Tanis-Likkel usually lead the study, using the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum as a resource. The curriculum leads us to connect the ancient texts with our day-to-day experiences. The wisdom of the class participants enhances our understanding of the faith as we share our ideas and stories. Newcomers are always welcome. No pre-requisite knowledge of the Bible is required. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bible), or we’ll loan you one if you need it.

  • Choir: We’re a multi-age group with a variety of singing experience. We’re open to any and all who’d like to explore and expand their vocal interests and talents. We practice Wednesday evenings from 6:45-8pm and Sunday mornings at 8:30am before worship. Some of us also participate in smaller group ensembles who perform periodically before the congregation.

If you're interested in singing with us, contact Alice Tawresey.

  • Hungry Readers: Our book discussion group meets to discuss books with a spiritual focus or that address social issues.   Meeting at 7pm on the third Monday of the month, we share personal responses to the notions raised by the books.  Everyone is welcome.

The Hungry Readers will be discussing Mr. God, This Is Anna on January 22.  This slim volume by an author known only as “Fynn” tells the true story of a child who has theological and mathematical insights far beyond her years.  Come and find out what question goes with the answer “In my middle!”

  • Mary Martha (ladies group): The Mary Martha Circle meets for a brown-bag luncheon at 11:30am the fourth Tuesday of every month starting in September and ending with a pot luck in May. We take turns hosting the dessert and coffee/tea portion of the meal. The purpose of the organization is to foster and continue companionship with church friends and to provide service to the church. All women of the church are invited to our luncheons.

  • Men’s Breakfast: We meet from 7-8:20am every Thursday (except major holidays) in our fellowship hall. We partake of a simple meal of oatmeal and fruit, and enjoy conversation and, often, a program by one of our attendees or a guest we’ve invited. The group is secular in nature, comprised of many philosophies, faiths, and beliefs, and there is amazing expertise available, regardless of the subject. All men are welcome.

  • Spiritual Quest Groups: These are gatherings of 5-12 committed people who want to share more intimately some of the concerns and thoughts in their journeys of faith. Quest groups foster growth of self-knowledge and greater love and appreciation for the others in the group, and beyond. If interested in joining or forming a group, please call the church office.  We can make format recommendations, but each group is free to determine what works best for it.  Please contact Ellen Johnson if you're interested in joining a quest group.

For more information on any of the above groups, please call the church office.
