Mission Statement:
Our mission is to further sustainable development for the planet and all life forms on it by helping business and other organizations define and implement solutions that enhance profitability through sustainability.

We follow the Brundtland Commission's definition of sustainable development as development that "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."   We define corporate social responsibility (CSR) as managing the environmental, social and economic impacts of an organization with the goal sustainable development for the planet.

Who we are:
Laura Musikanski
is a lawyer with an MBA and Certificate in Environmental Management from the  University of Washington. Ms. Musikanski has over 20 years of experience, including running a profitable business for 15 years. Over the last 5 years she has written sustainability reports and consulted to non-profits, governmental agencies, and small, medium and large enterprises. She is on the board of Sustainable Seattle and volunteers for the CASA program. Currently Ms. Musikanski is a senior consultant and the sustainability manager at ENTRIX, Inc., a national environmental and natural resources consulting company. In spring of 2008, Ms. Musikanski will be teaching two classes at NWETC : Defining Sustainability in Practice, Policy and Law, and Triple Bottom Line Reporting. Ann Burgund is an Emmy Award-winning film producer for her work on the television series Sesame Street. She was on staff for five years during which time she produced sixty films for the show, most of them about nature and the environment. After working as a writer in Manhattan for over fifteen years, Ms. Burgund  moved to Los Angeles where she developed and associate produced The Mask, a feature film starring Jim Carrey. It was among the top three films at the box office in 1994.That year she moved to Seattle to become head writer/editor for the Microsoft Office web site. She has worked as a consultant for several content-rich, integrated media online projects. In 2001, Ms. Burgund  was hired as Content Specialist for CTB/McGraw-Hill where she headed a team of renowned children’s authors who wrote stories for educational products. Ms. Burgund recently served as a consultant to National Geographic School Publishing producing materials to address the high drop out rate in our nation’s high schools. Ms. Burgund has a BA in English and Comparative Literature from the University of Cincinnati. Ms. Burgund can be reached at ann.burgund@gmail.com
